Fans Invited to Share Favorite Moments in PBA History

The PBA is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this upcoming season and fans are invited to share their favorite moments in PBA history. As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, the PBA is running a “Rolling Down Memory Lane” promotion in which fans are invited to send stories and photos detailing their greatest memories over the past 50 years.Fans are encouraged to send their stories and photos to 50th@pba.com. If a fan’s greatest moment is one of the 50 chosen for use on the PBA’s official website, www.pba.com, they will receive a special prize, which will be announced at a later date.Stories submitted should be 150 words or less and it is encouraged that a photo be included to assist in telling the story.The PBA was founded in 1958 by Eddie Elias, an attorney from Akron, Ohio, who brought 33 founding members together to form the organization. The PBA Tour was born in 1959 with three events taking place, two of which were won by the great Dick Weber. In the 50 years since, the Tour has grown to more than 20 events across the country, including one in Japan, and today the PBA has more than 4,200 members from 13 different countries. A celebration of the 50th Anniversary will take place over the course of the 2008-09 season.
